In a world of unrelenting stimulation, 40-character/emoji communication and mindless scrolling, each issue of Side Effects offers a weekly opportunity to refine your critical thinking, pattern recognition, imagination, memory and senses. These invaluable skills may lie dormant, may have atrophied or, more tragically, may have never been engaged at all. Therefore, I do not provide url links, a key, or the “answers” because any form of Cliffs Notes will detract from the experience.

Combining critical thinking with visionary imagination, my creative expression expands possibility. My ability to connect seemingly disparate information forms new meaning/perspectives/ideas by extracting tidbits from their natural context.
Referencing art/music/history/pop culture/nature/language + more, the blog features wit, wisdom and whimsy in an unexpected and original format. Intentionally incomplete, Side Effects is a quick read – the latest format is only five paragraphs long and each line is typically a short series of three. Deliberate, nuanced and symbolic, each edition features original images from my adventures.
Side Effects illuminates my unconventional, multi-dimensional view of the world. An extension of my overall Vision, it is a sample of my Creative Consulting style, The Kaleidoscope Effect®, which leverages my love of details and gift for organizing them in a fresh, unique way.

Side Effects’ unique, thought-provoking presentation is intended to be an exercise in noticing, sensing, connecting, recalling, referencing, brain-storming and more.
You can breezily scan it and chalk it up to entertainment … dissect the sub-themes which are not overtly stated … hunt for hidden patterns/meanings/symbols … engage your memory by remembering reference points … or ideally, use it as a springboard, letting your inspiration take over by extending it/adding to it/making it your own.
Each edition allows room for your interpretation/contemplation/pontification to add your own ideas/thoughts/feelings. Take it in and receive what comes in the moment. Re-read as you wish, because like a kaleidoscope with many shifting layers/shapes/colors, each pass may reveal a subtle/different/deeper facet. There is no right or wrong way; simply your individual experience.
